Starting around age 40, many people start to notice a sagging in the cheeks and face. Traditionally, the only option to improve the tightness of facial tissue was with a surgical facelift. Today, the face can be reshaped using a minimally invasive procedure known as Silhouette Lift™ or Non Surgical Facelift.
As one of our advanced cosmetic procedures , this technique raises sagging facial tissue and redefines the contours of the face without major surgery, and all in about one hour with virtually no downtime.
What is Silhouette Lift?
Silhouette Lift™ is an FDA approved minimally invasive technique used to lift and tighten sagging tissue in the mid to lower face. It can also be used to tighten sagging skin on the neck and jowls. Growing in popularity, this non surgical facelift alternative has been successfully performed over 22,000 times in 55 countries around the world.
Silhouette Lift vs. Traditional Facelift
Silhouette Lift offers a number of benefits compared to a traditional facelift including:
- In-office procedure under local anesthesia vs. hospital setting with general anesthesia
- More affordable – Silhouette Lift is a fraction of the cost of traditional facelift
- Less downtime – Return to normal activities in 2 – 4 days
- Immediate results
- Quicker recovery – Full results in 10 days
- Natural looking without that “pulled” or “wind blown” look
How Does it Work?
Silhouette Lift™ uses a new type of suspension sutures developed specifically for the procedure. These sutures offer exceptional lift thanks to their unique structure. The sutures are made of a non-absorbable polypropylene strand. This strand holds several flexible and absorbable hollow cones.
The importance of suture’s structure is that once inserted, tissue can grow inside and around the hollow cones and form a much stronger anchoring mechanism compared to traditional sutures. Another unique feature of the Silhouette Sutures is that they can be re-tightened after a few years, which extends the longevity of the facelift.
During The Procedure
Silhouette Lift is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. Patients will remain awake and alert during the procedure, but will not be aware of any pain.
In cases of facial rejuvenation, the physician will make a small incision into the temporal region, just above the hairline. Depending on the desired lift, a number of Silhouette sutures will be inserted and pulled back to lift the lower face. In the case of a neck-lift, an incision will be made behind the ear.
Following The Procedure
In general, the procedure lasts around one hour, and patients can expect to be able to leave immediately following the procedure. Most patients experience some mild soreness and pain following the procedure. In general, patients can resume normal activities within two to four days. Typically, they can expect it to take around ten days for the skin to fully recover.
