The Easy Way to Eliminate Wrinkles, Age Spots and Acne Scarring

Life is not always a smooth, straight road; sometimes one hits some potholes and meets some twists and turns along the way. Likewise, as a person ages, his or her skin starts to show the telltale signs of this journey, developing wrinkles, age spots, and scars along the way. While some people don’t mind flaunting these imperfections and consider them souvenirs of a life well lived, many people find them unsightly and look for ways to hide or erase them entirely.

There are a variety of ways to reduce the look of and even eliminate wrinkles, age spots, and acne scarring, some surgical and some that can be done at home. The following are some examples of these methods.

Treating the Outer Layer of Skin

There are some things a person can do to the outer layer of his or her skin to eliminate wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars. Vitamin A delivered in the form of retinoids is considered a good topical treatment for wrinkles and scars for example. Products containing retinoids boast benefits such as easing the appearance of wrinkles and scars along with brightening and firming up the skin.

For age spots, there are topical bleaching treatments which remove the color from the spots or a person can pursue something a little more invasive but still only affecting the outer layer of skin: laser treatments. Lasers can focus light onto the offending marks and cause them to fade.

Delving Deeper

To get further down and treat deeper wrinkles, acne scars, and age spots one can try microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Both help uncover smoother skin by removing some of the outer, older skin by either exfoliating or chemically removing the dead skin.

Depending on the strength of either of these treatments they can either be done with at-home kits or in a clinical setting. BOTOX and face lifts are other more invasive options that can help mainly with eliminating wrinkles. BOTOX injections relax the muscles that bunch up and cause wrinkles while face lifts involve pulling the skin taut and removing any excess.
